What a difference, this pic was taken last week just before the open garden
This was taken yesterday
The speed the jungle grows once it has warmed up is amazing.
How can you not love these huge leaves.
the 'Living Wall' is coming on too, I am already looking for other plants to swap with ones that aren't doing as well. The biggest problem I have is when I have the irrigation on, people (husband) comes along and switches the tap off because he thinks its dripping! aaargh! We have had words lol!
'George' giraffe, is slowly disappearing.
A couple of very good friends have given us some new fish for our very empty pond. We took the poorly fish to a specialist who says he is actually healing now, so fingers and toes crossed.
Hollyhocks have now bloomed, they are a stunning colour.
Tango hasn't grown, he is just enjoying the sun
Mr Darcy, looking meek. He is not, he is spoilt rotten!
Lots of discussion on whether we should extend the 'Jungle'. Total family split on this. Husband thinks it could look good, daughter says definitely no. We will continue talks, but I need both of them on side as there is some heavy work involved. K follows me in her love of gardening and thoroughly enjoys helping me.
So I respect what she say, as without her, the garden would not have looked as good it did.
Yesterday we had a bar-b-que, lit the chimnea sat out till dusk. Saw the first stars and bats. It seems along time since we did that, may have to do it again, very soon.

Bored now!
We had a fantastic day, the weather was glorious and we had a good amount of people.
George the Giraffe was happy and greatly admired.
The pics are in no particular order, but all taken on the day
I did move the watering can, honest! lol!
Tango was amazing, he went round and convinced everyone that nobody had fussed him!
The sun came out
So very pleased with the pond area.
Then the people came
Found places to sit and drink 'Pimm's'. Tango enjoyed all the attention he got.
Then they all went home, we went out and had a bar-b-que with all the other 'Open Garden' owners, which was super.
Last night all Garden owners visited each others gardens, which was fun. Yes it poured with rain.
Today I am bored!!!
So took hubby down the garden and told him my suggestion for this area.
This veg bed has not grown well for quite a few years now, so I thought I could remove the gravel path. Open up the raised edges and dig over the whole area and extended the jungle area.
I will move the trough of bamboo to the end of this bed by the bench, which will be moved further down.
I could then extend the jungle bed. It will be wider which I think will be amazing...
Hubby said.............. NO! ............. obviously I need to work on him lol!!!

Its Raining, its Pouring
No photos this time, as only a week to go.
At least it is staying relatively warm and the humidity is doing wonders, I can't believe how quickly plants have been growing.
I hope it continues, The T-Rex leaves are ENORMOUS! Maybe I might re-open in September for people to see it at its best?
I have more or less decided to get rid of one of the veg beds, they are totally rubbish this year and to be honest have been for a few years even though they have compost and manure added. The smallest one closest to the 'Jungle' is going as it is opposite a cosy seating area. I shall plant the more hardier plants here. I have been given 2 Cardoons so they will go in here. I have an Ensete, that I thought had died last winter so I dug it up and stuck it in a pot and forgot about it. Lo and behold its growing like crazy so that will probably go in here. I will be picking peoples brains for ideas, so be prepared.
Anyway, that's more for the future, today we are clearing the plant pots, why do we hang on to so many, and tidying up by the greenhouse. Brushing the patios to remove the green etc etc
I wonder if it will be dry on the day?
