Things to Finish!

I have been rather unwell, a really bad gastric bug which no one else got, and lasted alot longer than your average 24hours (4+days) and to be honest totally wiped me out.
But I am getting better.

On the Potting Shed forum instead of organising a bag make or a knit this or a sew that, we have decided to organise a 'things to finish' by the end of March. Which I thought was a really good idea. So many of us have a number of things 'on the needles' or need that push to 'decorate this' or 'dig that' so a fewof us have signed up for it.

I have a shawl I have been knitting for *~ months and

a top for me which has been on going for about as long,

plus I really must get the veg beds dug over.

So as I don't work I have chosen to try and finish 3 things, even if I don't finish them, I hope to be alot further along than I was when I started, if you get my drift!!

A Sunny Day!

I am finding gardening a real chore at the moment, and was all for giving up and selling my tropicals etc. But the family have persuaded me its a passing phase and have all agreed to help out. Then we can review it next year!

At the moment I am trying to do a little bit each day, a maximum of an hour, and only if I feel up to it!

So I planted 1 row of spuds, (Charlotte)

Some more onions with rows of carrots between

and unbubblewrapped the greenhouse

and that was all I could manage.

Meanwhile the cats where doing what cats do.....

Tango eating a mouse, ugh!

Sassy sleeping in the old rabbit hutch we kept for them.

Jake being very brave and sneaking out the lounge window!

At last my clematis has opened, it is so pretty!

I am still knitting the Forest Canopy shawl and have undone it so many times. But today I found out about 'life line' and only wish someone had told me about it earlier! This could be my saving grace!!

Day Off

We have been having a couple of days off from the garden, as the weather has now turned against us!
But I thought you might like to see a clematis I have on the north side (front) of the cottage. Of course I have lost the label so am afraid I can't help you with its name. It is in a pot and to be honest is totally neglected, only gets watered when I remember. When we clean out the fish tank I often pour the dirty water on this but that's about all the care it gets!

I can't wait for it to fully open, its going to be beautiful!

For my crafting friends, I am having a go at knitting with lace weight yarn. I have had the yarn awhile and been wondering what to do with it, when a friend suggested I had a go at the Forest Canopy Shawl pattern.

I had a number of false starts, got angry and ripped it off the needles, but once I slowed down, read the pattern properly I have done well.

Up to 3 pattern repeats now!
