I haven't been blogging for a number of reasons. I like to take pics for my blog and as you know my camera broke, so I am using K's high spec heavy weight one, which takes amazing pics, but is a bit of a pain to carry round as its so big. Every time I went out the door with my little one I would slip it in my pocket, so you got more 'random' pics! I have to think about taking this one out!
Also....
I haven't been able to do much as my knee can't take the extra weight of carrying or walking to far, it still keeps locking which is not only painful but downright annoying!! Although to be fair to the specialist, he never made any guarantees!!
I am currently working hard on building up the muscles in my thigh as they have deteriorated badly, due to me obviously favouring my strong leg over the last year!
Anyway enough moans and groans...
I started to clear out the greenhouse last week as we have had a number of exceptionally chilly nights and it is nearly time for me to bring in my tropicals
the tomatoes had really gone nuts and had I been able to leave them I would probably have got some more toms from them!
most removed, just need hubby to remove the grow bags
remaining tomatoes! I had amazing green growth but not alot of tomatoes this year, I may have to rethink how I grow them!!!
In the small greenhouse I have brought in some of the more tender plants
I also purchased a new one Alocasia Wentii, the upper side of the leaf is green
and the lower is purply green to purply black!
On the bench I use a reptile heat mat, I find they work well as they only heat where things touch. So the gaps in between the plants are cold, whereas underneath the pots are warm!
I intend to buy a larger one and will place it on polystyrene.
In the pond the papyrus has grown beyond all expectation!! The whole of the pond needs to be cleaned out, we do this about once every four years, and this year is it!!
Anyone any idea what this is?? its been growing in my veg bed and I have no idea where it came from, I have just been watching and waiting to see what happens.
Such a beautiful colour at this time of year!!
An Impatiens tinctura flower.
You can see how the leaves have shredded and are now turning yellow, nearly time to tuck them into the greenhouse for the winter!!

A Quickie!
Just a quickie post, I am sadly without my camera and only have use of K's big one. I always feel that a blog requires pictures to make it a little more interesting. Being on sticks and confined to the house also make life a little boring, so this is just to let you know I am alive and still in blog land, although it currently lacks content!!!! lol!

Jake!
Has lived with us for just over a year now! He and Sassy still do not get on and he can be quite mean to her! But we just split them up and give him a squirt of water!
He has changed alot whilst with us, he stayed in a cattery and when he came home he seemed to have grown.
He brought his first mouse in! Well not that you could call it a mouse it was so small.
He still uses the litter tray and the vet says we may never get him off it!!
He never visits his old home whilst both Sassy and Tango do!
He goes outside alot.
He also shouts at us!! Tango and Sassy talk to us but Jake seems to shout, quite funny really.
and he can always be found in unusual places !!

Normal Service to be Resumed! ( I Hope!)
Well what a summer, I have had....
our first holiday in 5 years and although the weather wasn't the best we had a great time with the girls.
Tori has a couple of medical issues at the mo, but they are being dealt with and hopefully will come to nothing. As I said before, unfortunately she did not get the grades needed to get directly onto her course, but after a grade check and a visit they accepted her anyway! I think she has decided that exams are not the way forward for her! Her course starts Thursday!
Kathryn starts her internship today! After her success at her degree she has gone in a totally different direction and will be working in the support department at Worcester Uni. She has oodles of patience so a good choice, plus one day a week course which will give her a diploma in management, which will count towards an MBA.
The interview was only 10 days ago and since then she has found, furnished and partially decorated a shared house! No rest for the wicked.
The garden has gone from this
to this
it may not have been a brilliant summer for us, but the plants aren't complaining!!!
My knee has had a minor op, hopefully the 'giving way' will cease. I had a major reaction to the anti-inflamatory tablets I was given which set me back, but hopefully the physio-terrorist!!!! will sort me out. They do like to give you pain these physio's!!
The draw for my 4th Blog birthday was picked by my husband and the winner was Lilymarlene, please E-mail me your address and the pressies will be winging there way to you soon.
Currently in flower in the garden..
hopefully I should be blogging on a regular basis now, will be round visiting your blogs this week!!
