Spring? Maybe?

I am at last beginning to feel human again. I have started 'doing' again. Not alot, because I can't. For instance the fence round the bottom patio need refreshing, this would normally have been done in under one day. It took me most of last week to do!

I am pleased, I do love this colour 'Beaumont Blue' from the 'Shades' range.

This pic was taken last week, looks dead doesn't it?

Its not, a bit of heat and a bit of water then off we go!

Some Ensete's getting a bit of heat to set them off.

Out in the garden, at the beginning of the week, with temperatures up in the 20C the TRex has woken from its winter slumber. It is currently fleeced again as it is alot chillier now.

My tomatoes (sorry about the pic) now potted on are romping away.

The Cobaea Scandens where taking over the shelf they where on, climbing and twining round everything, how I am going to keep them going in here till all frosts are past I don't know??

As for the pond, well this is a mess. I haven't had blanket weed and green slimey stuff for donkeys years. I know its to do with constructing the new pond, lack of plants etc etc but it is awful.

I did suggest we built a pergola over it, but the man with the money said no.

Now this is a pond. I would love to have Koi, but hubster is dead against it!

Other growing's on in the Greenhouse.

The staging is still to be put together for the greenhouse, I hope to do that today. I have more plants, and have had to pot on what I had (a good sitting down job). So its getting even tighter in there.

Later in the week I am off to a friend in Reading who has some plants ready for me. I am very excited. Just hoping the weather warms up again.

Now the weather has gone a bit colder you will find Mr Darcy, wrapped up in his duvet! We found he would chew through blankets etc, but whilst I have been unwell I kept a duvet in the lounge and we often wondered where he was until the duvet began to move. He loves warmth, so he now has his own duvet which he tunnels into and settles down. He gets very toasty in here!

Full to the Brim!

The Greenhouse is chocka!

Every shelf is full,

Everything has been squeezed up tight,

I either need

More shelves or

a bigger greenhouse or

Less plants???

I am hoping with the warmer weather, that I could move the Tree Ferns outside and fleece in an emergency.

Its getting a bit of a joke now

You have to place your feet very carefully

I have bought some new staging, which will go under the propagater, this has an extra shelf.

Which I hope will help.

I am going to have to do something as I still have all these to sow!!!!!!!

Garden Fairies, workman.

Did you know that the Garden Fairy has a workman, and he has been in my garden whilst I have been ill. (Had an awful flu like bug)
Lots has been done, and I couldn't join in :o(

This is up on the patio area and has been built specifically to hide the Tree Fern pots, although I do love the Butia here, with its arching fronds. May have to find a new home for the Tree Ferns now!

The veg beds have new wood edging, with posts in each corner to raise the fleece or veggie-mesh off the crops, clever huh! Sadly not my idea, pinched from my neighbour.

The sleepers where put to good use around the rest of the garden. The bulk of them being used to build a raised planter on the patio next to the pond.

I had a silly sized bed here and as my garden is higher than my neighbours their fence was suffering, so this protects their fence and gives me more planting space. This turned out better than planned, and I am looking forward to planting it up. The rest of the sleepers where used to edge new beds.

My eldest daughter planted up the troughs with the bamboos,

there is one more to do but it means moving some of these plants and I am still not 100% certain it is the right place to go. The plus to putting a trough here

is the bamboo offered a huge amount of protection to the Trachy and the Basjoo, jury is still out on this.

Other than that, currently it is just a major tip run to clear all of this

and the Garden Fairies workman is 'Johnson Home Improvements' Chippenham, I cannot recommend this guy highly enough, so if your looking for a builder in the Wiltshire area, contact me and I will pass on his details.

Addictive

Just look at all of these

little plantlets

growing and nurtured to life

by myself. Some from seed, some bulbs and corms,

Its addictive, even the pricking out hasn't turned out too bad, probably because I spread out the actual seed sowing.

It has been a trying week this week as my beloved hubby has been really, really poorly. In all our years together I have never known him take time off work and take to his bed like this.
So I nipped out to the shops to get yet more tissues and paracetamol and managed to pick up a few little extras that may come in handy :o)

The date has been set, July 15th, the day of the Open Gardens. This is St Swithin's Day mmmmm not sure if its good or bad?
